Student Fair

The Master Education Fair Netherlands is the only recruitment event in the country fully dedicated to prospective master’s students. It brings together motivated bachelor’s students and (young) professionals who are actively exploring their next academic step. For universities, the fair offers a focused platform to present master’s programs, strengthen visibility, and engage directly with a highly relevant audience. Taking place alongside major education fairs, it also delivers additional visitor flows, strong context, and valuable networking opportunities with national and international partners.

Why take part in the Master Education Fair Netherlands?

The Master Education Fair Netherlands is the leading student recruitment event for universities seeking to attract high-quality master’s students in the Dutch and international market. With approximately 70% of Dutch university (WO) students progressing to a master’s degree, demand for postgraduate education in the Netherlands remains strong and continues to grow.

While research-oriented master’s programs attract the largest share of students, interest in professional (polytechic) master’s programs is rising steadily. In addition, demand is no longer limited to current bachelor’s students. We are seeing growing interest from (young) professionals who want to deepen their expertise or accelerate their careers through a master’s degree.

The Master Education Fair Netherlands offers universities a direct, efficient, and targeted way to reach this motivated audience.

What makes the Master Education Fair unique?
This Master Education Fair is the only recruitment fair in the Netherlands exclusively focused on prospective master’s students. It brings together ambitious bachelor’s graduates and working professionals who are actively exploring master’s programs in the Netherlands and abroad.

For universities, this creates a unique opportunity to engage face-to-face with qualified candidates, present academic offerings in depth, and support students at a crucial decision-making moment.

By participating, universities can:

  • Reach motivated master’s candidates who are actively comparing programmes and institutions
  • Increase program visibility and student enrollment through direct interaction
  • Strengthen institutional branding within a postgraduate-focused environment
  • Network with universities and education partners from the Netherlands and internationally
  • Benefit from additional visitor flows thanks to the fair’s overlap with the Education Fair Netherlands

The strength of this ecosystem is clear: 35% of visitors to Education Fair Netherlands indicate interest in a master’s program, even though master’s study is not the fair’s primary focus. This demonstrates strong untapped demand among internationally oriented students.

The Netherlands as a master’s recruitment market

The Netherlands remains a high-potential recruitment market for postgraduate education. In the 2023–2024 academic year, more than 51,500 students were enrolled in master’s programs, confirming a sustained upward trend in postgraduate participation. Around one-third of new master’s students in Dutch higher education are international, highlighting the country’s global attractiveness as a study destination.

Student mobility further strengthens recruitment potential. Approximately 18% of higher education students in the Netherlands are internationally mobile, with master’s students showing significantly higher mobility than bachelor’s students (27% versus 15%). This means universities can engage a large pool of candidates who are open to international study options.

In addition, research by Nuffic, the Dutch organization for internationalization in education, shows that around two-thirds of Dutch students are interested in studying abroad, driven by academic quality, international exposure, and career prospects.

Join the Master Education Fair Netherlands and meet thousands of Dutch students motivated to continue their postgraduate studies abroad.
