K12 student recruitment in Poland
Private education is growing fast across Warsaw, Gdansk, and Krakow, driven by parents looking for stronger language skills and international pathways.
In Warsaw, about 135,000 children attend primary school, and roughly 40,000 are already in private institutions with English-medium or extended English programs. By the end of primary school, many reach B1 English, giving them the confidence to join global programs and study abroad.
The city has 71 private high schools, including 12 international schools offering the IB, A-levels, or IGCSEs. Between 2013 and 2023, private high-school enrollment jumped 300%, showing a clear shift toward alternatives to the state system.
Gdansk follows this trend with schools such as the British International School and the International School of Gdansk, both offering recognized international curricula and attracting a growing number of Polish families.
Kraków also has a strong private-school presence, including the International School of Kraków, the British International School of Cracow, and several Polish private high schools offering the IB Diploma. These schools provide English-focused, globally aligned education from early years through graduation.
Across all three cities, families are looking beyond traditional schooling and choosing programs that open doors to international study and future mobility.
